After the peak of her fame, Karen had some personal issues. She appeared on a French interview show, but made such bizarre allegations about being raped by practically everyone she had ever known, including her own father, that the show never aired. However, she continued making the allegations. Her sister Saskia then had her committed for five months to work for her issues. However, it did not help and she tried to commit suicide.
Since then, Karen has resumed her career, but it is unclear if she is completely better. In any event, Karen has had a spectacular career and will always be remembered as one of Victoria's Secret's top models.
