Brazilian Stunner Isabeli Fontana
Isabeli Bergossi Fontana (born July 4, 1983) is a Brazilian model who first appeared in the Victoria's Secret catalog in 1999 at the age of 16. A media frenzy then erupted, because stated Victoria's Secret policy was to not use models younger than 18. However, it was a tempest in a teapot, and everybody soon got over it. Jac Jagaciak ran into similar age issues a few years afterwards, but in the long run neither girl's career suffered - and in fact may have been enhanced by the publicity. Isabeli later noted wryly that when she was 16, clients complained that she looked too young - but when she was 17, they changed their minds and decided that she looked too old.
Isabeli is from the Portão district of Curitiba, Paraná , Brazil. She is quite religious in her own way. After placing third in the Brazilian final of the 1996 Elite Model Look contest, she got an agent and moved to Milan.
Great success followed, including appearances in the 2002 and 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the prestigious Pirelli Calendar (2003, 2005, 2009, 2011-13), the 2007 'Wurth' Calendar and the 2008 Vogue Paris calendar.
Fontana's magazine covers, of which there are many going back well over a decade, include:
- July Lui France
- June Harper's Bazaar Brazil, Vogue Mexico
- November Telva, S Moda
- September Vogue Noiva, Vogue Brazil
- April Vogue Paris, Glamour Brazil
- March Vogue Mexico, H&M Magazine
Fontana has been married a couple of times and has a son, Zion, born in 2003. She has been one of the top-earning models for many years and extends her interests outside of modelling, including being a judge at the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant.
