Luján Fernández (born 1979) is a former Argentine model. She is very well known for her appearances in 1999, 2000 and 2001 issues of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Lujan followed an unusual path to modeling. She began her career in acting, performing on local television programs as a child.
Lujan was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 14, while on an Uruguayan beach, a talent scout spotted her (isn't that how it always happens?).
Before long, Lujan had moved to New York, which is the favorite first stop for world-class fashion models from Latin America.
Lujan's covers include:
- France: 'Vogue'
- Germany: 'Vogue'
- Italy: 'Photo'
- UK: 'Arena' - April 2000
- US: 'Vogue'; 'Harper's Bazaar (en Español)'
Lujan appeared on the runway and in print ads for all the top brands:
- Ralph Lauren
- John Bartlett
- Perry Ellis
- Victoria's Secret Catalogs
Particularly active in the 1999-2001 period, Lujan was named to the Maxim 100 Sexiest Women list in 2001, coming in at #66.
She since appears to have retired from modeling, though apparently she still is listed with Ford Models.
Lujan has been featured in advertising campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Emmanuel Ungaro, Chloe, Perry Ellis, and XOXO.
She appeared in the "Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit 2001" film about her swimsuit edition appearance.
Lujan is a Pisces.
There is a graphics artist online with the same name, but she is not the model Luján Fernández. Neither is the singer.
While Luján Fernández has kept a low profile in the international modeling world lately, Lujan was in Maxi Trusso's music video for his song "Make You Mine" in late 2016. Otherwise, however, she has been keeping a low profile.
