Melissa Rose Haro (born 5 September 1987) is an American model. She is probably most famous for appearing in the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues.
Melissa is from San Jose, California and is part Italian. She lived on the east side and went to James Lick High School. She began modelling at the age of 13, and in 2004 got her big break: an appearance on the first season of Project Runway, hosted by Heidi Klum. Melissa was the youngest model in the contest and placed a respectable third. That year, Melissa also entered beauty pageants and was named 2004 Miss Bay Area Teen and 4th Runner Up in the 2004 Miss California contest. And all of this before she even graduated from high school in 2005!
Among Melissa's brands are Guess Jeans (replacing Paris Hilton), Bebe, and Jessica McClintock. Her 2008 photo shoot for Sports Illustrated was set in the Cayman Islands during the Pirate Week festival, thus the many shots of her dressed as a scurvy dog of a pirate. Her 2009 photo shoot was set in Riviera Maya.
