Susan Eldridge (born October 7, 1979) is an American model famous for her waifish look which made her look at least ten years younger than she was. She appeared in a memorable commercial for Victoria's Secret and did a lot of other fine work.
Susan is from Santa Clara, California. She took part in the Model Search contest in Seattle, Washington. This led her to move to New York and sign with Elite Model Management. What resulted was a long career that provided a lot of provocative pictures that were unique and titillating.
In fact, looking at them now, you see just how original and pointed they were in terms of creating a unique Lolita look. It heavily emphasized her tween image, with lots of thumb sucking and Mickey Mouse ears and the like.
Susan's covers include
- Spain: 'Vogue' - August 2004
- UK: The Face - January 2004; 'Elle' - March 2005
- Russia: 'Vogue' - August 2004
- US: 'Self Service' - Number 4
Susan is famous for being the muse of famed photographer Terry Richardson, who of course remains the most renowned photographer in the business (ok, maybe not "of course" the most renowned, but you have to admit he's up there). She also has worked with Ellen von Unwerth, Mario Testino and other big-name photographers you probably have heard of.
Susan and Terry apparently broke up around 2004, but while they were together they produced some of the most intriguing shots of the era. Terry and Susan have worked together since then, too, apparently. However, nothing very recent that I can find.
Susan always kind of blurred the lines... if you know what I mean. Anyway, if you don't, look up the Blurred Lines video (which she wasn't in) and you might get some idea. She kind of straddled milieus. In a good way. Very free-spirited. So free-spirited, in fact, that I can't show you Susan's best work. You may ask, why is that? Again, recall the video and you'll get an idea. I think she called her style a "California vibe." Whatever it was, it worked.

Susan kind of disappeared for awhile after she broke up with Terry. Perhaps a kinder issue (I like to show off with obscure references). She then made a bit of a comeback in 2010-2011, walking in the really big shows again. Since then, though, Susan has lowered her profile again.
Let's be real: modelling is a tough, cut-throat business. It's tough to pull off the Lolita look as you push 40. Heck, most models can't do it when they're 30. But while they can - it makes an impact.
Susan has two children (maybe three) and still models (maybe). It is tough to get recent information on her. Some models like their privacy. No reason to dig too deep for stuff like that.
Anyway, Susan still has fans and always will. I'm sure they wonder what's up with her. If she ever wants to raise her profile again, she'd make a lot of folks happy.
Susan apparently took the picture on her 2010 model card, below, herself. She still had that impish look.
