Ana Paula Araujo (born October 25, 1981) is a Brazilian model who works mainly outside the United States. Ana appeared in the 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In addition to working with world-class photographers on her SI shoots, she was the object/subject of Joanne Gair body painting works in the 2007 edition.
Ana was born in Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil. A photographer spotted her in her hometown when she was 14, and that changed her life. She quickly moved to São Paulo, which took a bit of convincing of her mother. After that, Ana was on her way. She became one of the country’s most popular models, zooming to the top of the Brazilian modelling firmament. Since 2003, Ana has appeared on the runway for many top-flight designers, including Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson, Mark Ecko, YSL Rive Gauche, Zac Posen, Sebastian Pons and Liz Claiborne.
The 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover was a group shot, and Ana was thrilled to be chosen. “To be in Sports Illustrated is such a huge thing,” she gushed. “I’m excited!” The 2007 SI Swimsuit Edition also featured rookies Bar Refaeli, Selita Ebanks and Raica Oliveira.
Ana continues to model and appears in Victoria's Secret and top fashion magazines around the world.
