Noémie Lenoir (born 19 September 1979) is one of the top French models. She has worked with some of the greats in the industry, and has a fascinating background that has given her that little something extra over many of her contemporaries. Victoria's Secret fans know Noémie from her appearances in the 2007 and 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows, but this exotic charmer has a lot more to her than just that.
Let's take a closer look at the fascinating Noémie Lenoir.
Noémie is as French as you can be, having been born near the royal town of Versailles 25 km outside of Paris (actually in nearby Ulis, Essonne).
Noémie's father was a French electrician, while her mother was from Réunion in the Indian Ocean, and has Malagasy ancestry.
Noémie was discovered while living in Palaiseau. A Ford Modelling Agency representative saw her in a Postal Office and gave her his card.
Lenoir has been on many covers around Europe and North America. However, the majority of them have been in France:
- Canada: 'Flare' - July 2000
- France: 'Cosmopolitan' - September 2002; 'FHM' - May 2004; 'Cosmopolitan' - July 2004; 'Vogue' - June/July 2008; 'French Revue de Modes' - Spring/Summer 2011; 'Lurve' - Winter 2011
- Italy: 'Amica'
- Turkey: 'Madame Figaro' - August 2009
- US: 'Trace' - May 2000; 'Untold' - May/June 2000; 'Sports Illustrated' - 2000; 'Town & Country' - May 2004
Noémie married (apparently) French footballer Claude Makélélé in early 2004.
Noémie has tattoos on her lower tummy and on her right foot.
Noémie and Makélélé had a boy named Kelyan, born in 2005.
Noémie has made many "hottest girl" lists. For example, she ranked #42 on the 2004 "100 Sexiest Women" in FHM France.
Noémie and Makélélé apparently broke up in early 2009. Whether or not they were ever technically married was a bit unclear for many years. Noémie wrote in a blog post in 2009 that the two were never actually married, and that he was just the "baby daddy."
Noémie was in Usher's music video for "Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)" in 2009.
Noémie has done a lot of acting. Her first project was "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra" (2002).
Other films graced by Lenoir were "Payoff," "After the Sunset" and "The Valet."
Noémie is best known for appearing in "Rush Hour 3" with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Noémie is notorious for having made a failed suicide attempt in May 2010. Apparently, it was fashionable around that time for models to do that. Noémie since has said the whole thing was "stupid." She apparently suffered no lasting ill effects.
Aside from her film roles, Noémie has become a regular presence on French television. She hosted a show on Trace TV for two years.
Noémie' most recent film as of this writing was "The Transporter Refueled" in 2015.
"I think if you don't trust in yourself, it helps to trust in something else."
Noémie Lenoir is on Twitter and Instagram.
“The diva generation is gone, my generation, we're not so rude. We turn up on time, even Kate Moss, because if we don't, we won't get booked again. And besides, I don't want to behave like a famous person. I like to be normal.”
Noémie had a daughter, Tosca, in August 2015.
Noémie is on Facebook and provides regular updates there. However, if you want to follow her, you will have a lot more fun if you speak French!
